The top changes to make to your lifestyle so you can thrive in a post-covid world

1/21/2022

Please enjoy the following guest post with advice on how to thrive in a post-COVID world.

Sophie Letts created Meditation Help to help others get started with meditation, dispel meditation myths, and provide the resources others need to connect with their bodies, calm their minds, and embrace their true selves. She has been practicing meditation for five years. Her practice has helped her in many ways, including improving her ability to focus and reducing feelings of anxiety.

COVID-19 has completely changed the way people live, work, go to school and interact with each other. New cases are still being recorded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention every day. Instead of waiting for the pandemic to ease, you may make permanent lifestyle changes. Here’s how you can adapt to the new way of life and continue to find happiness and success.
THE TOP CHANGES TO MAKE TO YOUR LIFESTYLE SO YOU CAN THRIVE IN A POST-COVID WORLD

Make your home more inviting and comfortable

Ever since the early days of this pandemic, more people have been staying home. Millions of workers now are teleworking instead of commuting to work. If you're spending more time at home, consider doing some things to make your space more inviting. Think about finally starting that kitchen remodel, updating your bathrooms, or replacing your carpets. Another idea is to change your décor scheme and add more earthy tones, indoor plants, textures, and other cozy elements.

Support your town's local businesses

COVID-19 has taken a serious toll on commerce, with up to one-third of the nation's small businesses closing in the last year. The local shops that are left in your neighborhood need your support. Instead of choosing chain restaurants and big-box retailers, support your community's small, locally-owned companies to help keep them afloat.

Start new hobbies

The pandemic has taught many people that life can change in an instant. It's important to do things that make you happy, such as new hobbies. If you've always been curious about yoga, now is the time to get started. Yoga includes full-body stretches to increase your flexibility and meditation techniques to calm your mind.

Enjoy more meaningful friendships

Quarantining and social distancing have taken a toll on relationships. Deep, meaningful friendships make us happier and more confident. In a post-pandemic world, it may take more effort to maintain a strong friendship, but the benefits are worth it. Be sure to nurture quality social ties by staying in regular contact and getting together often.

Pursue your career dreams

Career directions may have shifted due to the impact of the pandemic on people's lives. Now is the right time to open your own small business that can cater to a post-COVID-19 world. Start one by forming a limited liability company. Make sure you know your state's rules on creating an LLC before you start since the regulations differ across the U.S. You can do it yourself (avoiding expensive lawyer fees) and find forms to start an LLC, or you can use a formation service. Having an LLC brings you tax benefits, flexibility, and less paperwork — it also limits your personal liability in some matters.

Spend more time outdoors

With social distancing still the norm, the number of people enjoying outdoor activities has gone up. Hiking, biking, running, camping, and exploring nature can keep you away from the crowds, discovering the wonders of the natural world. This is the perfect time to schedule a visit to one of the national parks in the country.

Improve your health

Your health and well-being are some of the most important focuses you should have in a world after COVID-19. Start prioritizing your health and work on any risk factors that could make illnesses like COVID-19 more serious. Commit to weight loss if you are overweight, quit smoking, add regular exercise to your day and remake your diet with healthier foods.
